Benton on the Vineyard

Our fall exhibition featured a selection of paintings by Thomas Hart Benton, focusing solely on his works from Martha’s Vineyard. Works from over six decades will reveal Benton’s stylistic evolution from his early Modernist explorations through the development of his distinctive Regionalist style. Over 25 scenes of Benton’s family, his neighbors, and the lush, rolling geography of the island were on display.
