Thomas Hart Benton Catalogue Raisonné

Owen Gallery is the principal sponsor of the forthcoming Thomas Hart Benton Catalogue Raisonné. After holding a Thomas Hart Benton exhibition in 2000, Owen Gallery recognized the necessity for quality records and further scholarship regarding this important American artist. Equipped with an extensive working knowledge of the artist developed during this exhibition, Owen Gallery began organizing and compiling the definitive catalogue raisonné of the paintings of Thomas Hart Benton.

The catalogue Raisonné is organized under the Thomas Hart Benton Catalogue Raisonné Foundation and follows similar catalogue raisonné models. The project has an expert review committee, consisting of Dr. Henry Adams, recognized Benton scholar; Jessie Benton and Anthony Benton Gude, the artist’s daughter and grandson; and Michael Owen, President of Owen Gallery. The review committee is responsible for the authentication and inclusion of works into the catalogue.
