Although Guy Wiggins is best remembered for his scenes of snowstorms in New York City, he also painted many Connecticut landscapes, as well as seascapes in Gloucester and other locales along the New England shoreline. The artist maintained a residence in Lyme, Connecticut from 1905 to 1937 and another in Essex, Connecticut from 1937 until his death in 1962.
