Modernism: An American View

This exhibition explored the formulation of America’s first avant-garde. The show traced the process of the establishment of a new Modernist movement characterized by a uniquely American spirit. Paintings by Milton Avery, Oscar Bluemner, Charles Burchfield, Stuart Davis, Charles Demuth, John Marin, Georgia O’Keeffe, Niles Spencer, Joseph Stella and Max Weber, among several others, were featured.
