Drawing nearly 2,500 visitors, our exhibition on the paintings of Thomas Hart Benton included work from all periods of his career, providing a comprehensive overview of the impressive accomplishments that marked his life work. Showcasing a group of some of Benton’s most important ‘Regionalist’ style paintings, as well as a never before seen collection of his early modernist work, the exhibition demonstrated Benton’s unique vision of the American scene, as well as his important contribution to the American modernist aesthetic.
